All applications must be submitted through Proposal Central by 4:00 PM Eastern Time on July 15, 2024.
Damon Runyon Fellows selected in November 2020 and May 2021 (DRG-2418-21 to DRG-2451-21), and Damon Runyon Quantitative Biology Fellows selected in February 2022 (DRQ-13-22 to DRQ-15-22) are eligible to apply.

The award can begin immediately following the term of the original Fellowship. For those whose Fellowships have already ended, the award can begin on January 1, 2025.
Application Requirements
1. Application Cover Sheet
2. A brief a) summary of research progress and accomplishments under the Damon Runyon Fellowship, b) description of research vision and its potential impact on cancer, and c) description and projected timeline (next 5-10 years) of career goals. Parts a, b, and c are not to exceed two pages in total of single-spaced, 12-point type with at least 0.5-inch margins. Figures and references are to be included in the 2-page limit.
3. Up-to-date NIH Biosketch (non-fellowship) including the following information:
- A. Personal Statement
- B. Positions and Honors
- Research and Professional Positions
- Other Experience and Professional Memberships
- Honors/Fellowships/Awards
- C. Contributions to Science
4. Full Bibliography with Hyperlinks. Include hyperlinks to preprints on bioRxiv. If you include a manuscript that is in preparation, indicate the anticipated timeframe until submission.
5. A list of Conferences and Seminars Attended, Invited Talks Given and Posters Presented during your Damon Runyon Fellowship.
6. A list of Ongoing Research Support with current and pending funding sources.
Reference Letters
Two reference letters must be submitted to Proposal Central on or before the application deadline date.
Referees are asked to rank the applicant's research and leadership potential in comparison with others at a comparable career stage. Letters should be from:
- current Damon Runyon Fellowship Sponsor
If there are two Sponsors, submit only one letter in conjunction.
- a qualified individual, external to the institution where the applicant is completing their postdoctoral research, who can evaluate the applicant’s impact in the field of cancer research and assess their potential for successful independent cancer research.
The second referee may not be a collaborator, coauthor, or current/former mentor of the applicant.
Applicants will NOT be able to submit their application unless all reference letters are uploaded to the portal.

Finalist Interviews
Fall 2024
A small number of finalists will be interviewed by members of the Fellowship Award Committee.
